Bears...VS BOWDEN

ya, so some of you have asked what these Bear stories are...It started way back in history...not really, ok. So i did a lot of Camping and rafting and biking this last summer, IT WAS AWESOME!!! any who. we were at Scout Camp down by Yosemite.i got in late Thursday night, (after rafting) after showering in nice warm showers, i climbed into bed. somewhere around 4am, i woke up for no reason. as i looked up, i noticed my tent flap was open(we were in those army style canvas tents with an opening on each end) and i was like, i didn't leave that open, so laying there on my cot, i tilted my head back a little more. Lo and behold, i saw the Silhouette of something, so i rolled over to discover, that the shadow i saw was actually a BLACK BEAR!!!!his head was under my cot, so i slowly moved back, then i slammed my cot down, to scare him, and i took off the other way! i ran to my dad's tent( like a little school girl, but i didn't care i didn't want to be the bears early breakfast.) to grab a light, and we went looking for the bear. after we couldn't find it, i tried to convince myself it wasn't really a bear, but the next morning, the camp right next too ours, said that they had Tracks going right through their camp...
Incident #2. (While i was at Arronic Priesthood Encampment.) we were at Dinner, and when we got back to our camp grounds, one of the boys said that his sleeping bag had melted. They went on and on about how hot the inside of the tent was, so i finally investigated. The bag did indeed look melted in one area of it. and it was wet. So i was the brave Scout Master, and smelt it...chocolate...apparently his sister used the sleeping bag at girls camp, and put some candy in a hidden pocket. as i looked at the bag again, it was indeed a bite mark, with lots of drool, from a good sized bear. Sooo...i let the boy take my sleeping bag, and i slept in the back of the Truck...(and froze.)
The 3rd encounter was with Tom Brasher on a bike ride on the Clementine Loop...we were riding at about 615am, and as we were going up the trail, Tom was like " THERE"S A BEAR!" i thought he was teasing me, because of my previous experiences, but as i rounded the corner, there was a very beautiful looking, Large Black bear now running up the trail, it then climbed up the hill, and it was just there looking at us. probably wondering which one he wanted to pick off first...well, after about 3 minutes, we decided to keep going, and he never did catch up to us, well if he was trying...so there it is!
